WELCOME TO HELL
Welcome, children… to HELL!
You died. You’ve been dead for a time now. Didn’t you realize?
You can refer to me as B. Bill. I will be your guide. Yes, you will be judged. But first… let me ask you… what time is it? Forever o’clock? That seems right. We are going to get to know each other very well. The best of friends.
I will take you on your journey through the gates of oblivion.
At this stage, you have two choices.
To my left, you have the path of historical awareness. Follow as I take you down a timeline of horror film history, those long forgotten hidden gems that have shaped our vision of hell. We will learn where it all began to the modern era of the horror genre. But learn well. There will be a test. One that never ends… if you are lucky.
To my right, you have the path of critique as I showcase my personal favorites. I implore you to explore my list of top one hundred horror films… Good and bad. It may take a lifetime. You may have to do it two, three… perhaps one hundred times.
Frowned upon by many, the horror genre is the most important. Storytelling is the oldest form of entertainment and the art of telling a scary tale is a craft like none other. On the spectrum between comedy and tragedy, horror provokes the most emotion and evokes the most thought as it teaches us morals and dares us to overcome our greatest fears.
Hop on this raft and let’s explore these two terrifying realms… together… Forever.
Let us commence.
